I have been involved in the Family Court System for two years, for the emotional and physical well being of my young son. Period. His Father is and continues to be, while under the scrutiny of the courts, unable to recognize his alcoholism and drug addiction. This child has been bounced around not only due to his Father's behavior but due to the decisions of the court to preserve a Father/Son relationship even if it is at the behest of the emotional crippling and possible physical well being of the child. My son has endured court decisions from supervised visitations with court ordered agencies to unsupervised and back to supervised again. There are court ordered determinations from court ordered psychologists recommending Continued Supervised Visitation until his Father can remain sober for a SUBSTANTIAL period of time. The judge turned the other cheek to her own order and recommendations. Now, a positive urine indicating oxycontin and benzodiazepenes, thus ordered, supervised visitation once again. I am curious as to when this system recognizes the insanity of ordering the same thing over and over again and expecting different results? I am curious, in this day and age, how much more it will take for the courts to understand the crippling effects of a child while they focus on saving a parent incapable of recognizing and in denial to the disease of alcoholism? I am curious when this system will recoginze the crippling effects and high risk of safety while continually placing a child in the care of a parent not knowing if they are under the influence and hoping that parent will see the light? I am curious if the courts will be accountable if my son dies in a car accident while under his Father's care? I am curious if the courts will be accountable and pay for the constant counseling needed to redirect my son as they continually bounce him around and place him in emotional and physical eminent harm? This system is stripping my son's chances away to become the best that he can be and endorsing the emotional crippling. These continued softer and easier orders and parameter are not even in the best interest of his Father's chances to recognize his disease, they endorse continued use. Please respond.
